First Saturdays: Community Service Projects

  • Urban Scholar Academy 8473 South Van Ness Avenue Inglewood, CA, 90305 United States (map)

This series is where we will be working with various non profit community outreach programs throughout Los Angeles who serve the community and are in need of volunteers. The “unhoused” are increasing in population and one of the most critical needs for them are food and hygiene products. This is one of our primary targeted populations we are assisting with at this time. We will work to support, distribute, and assemble food, hygiene, and essential items for local organized community programs. We even allow our students to help determine which items we should collect and donate for our monthly service projects. Follow us on Instagram to learn more about our project collaborations.

Our teens will be provided with masks, gloves and shields (when prepping food) to keep all lunches safe as well as one another during prep and for transit. We must ensure safety and social distancing and follow all guidelines set in place for Public Health. There are Limited slots, please register as soon as you can.

This project is offered to our GAWI community. You should be signed up as a subscriber and/or have attended at least one workshop with us in the past. If your organization is partnering with us, please list them in the sign up. An interview may be required for first time students. You will be sent the location in your confirmation. Click the sign up to be directed to our email (info@graceandwisdominstitute.org)
